"Latcho Drom" by a gypsy village in the movie, "Latcho Drom" (=good/fateful journey/odyssey). A drom is Roma's ride in wagons and with horses in their lives. A band of people travelling together was always varied in size, and when two bands met up after a couple of years, some families would interchange the band they were with.
I would write all this out into a story but am afraid of the reaction I would get.

Oddly, I am fairly new to Nightwish, even though bands with big, dramatic sounds tend to be my thing regardless of genre. Even in classical music, I am heavily into people like Beethoven and Wagner. I blame/credit my father, who was into opera, organ music, and such.

Still waiting for an album from this magnificent voice, but she's slipping out a new song every month or two now. Faouzia was born in Morocco and grew up in Winnipeg, Canada. I first heard her sing when she joined the band Whitehorse on stage on Canada Day a couple years ago for one of their hits. I am a big fan of Whitehorse but she completely took over my attention the moment she opened her mouth (alas, that clip got taken down from Youtube a long time ago). And she's also a pretty accomplished songwriter for her age (19 or 20, I think).

And since i suspect a lot of non-Canadians don't know who Whitehorse is, this is them. Luke Doucet and Melissa McLelland are a married couple who first got together while touring with Sarah McLachlan. While both had fairly good solo careers going, after they got married they started Whitehorse as a shared project and are still going strong.

Like you, I love big sound. I love depth and dramatic overtures. Beethoven is my favourite composer but one of my favourite pieces is 'Siegfried's Funeral March' from Gotterdammerung.

If you haven't heard this from Nightwish, I think that you will love it. It is almost classical, Operatic even and tells one hell of a story.
