Okay, just ignore my mention of Inspirations in my welcome message. I see you found it already. Welcome. Grab a cup of your favorite hot or cold beverage and join the fun. Sara's cookies are good, too, if you need a sugar fix.

Sorry I did not have the coffee ready. It is now. Freshly perked. The water is always hot for tea drinkers.

Victor has been walked and it appears to be a dreary day out there. Chill. Shopping will be done this afternoon.

There are extra day-old cookies behind the counter, Xander.

Hey, for some of us tea is life. Or at least what keeps us alive.

Shopping this afternoon for me, too. And maybe a flu shot if the store's pharmacy has stock and isn't too busy.

I just submitted another story. This one is a flash with 261 words. That will be three. Next, I am going to do the 120-word story.

I am thinking about a couple others to work on for the comps but haven't figured out what lengths they will go in. I'll probably start writing them and see where they want to go.

I might try writing one of the flash categories this weekend. I’d better have a coffee to go, please. Double espresso coffee

That's my next target. I have a long story in progress and used a poem for the 40 word category so a micro or flash is something I am contemplating. Have a vague bit of an idea, too, just need to focus on it and flesh it out.

Sipping my afternoon tea. Tetley's Strawberry Black. Hard to get nowadays, but is available as an add-on item for Amazon orders so we get them to throw a couple cans in the box every time we order. Ditto Tetley's Black Currant. About the only bag teas I drink nowadays.

Xander we have 2 cookie jars on the counter ... Big Bird is for the diabetic friendly cookies and Cookie Monster has the other cookies

In Big Bird we have : peanut butter and banana cookies, pumpkin cookies, maple walnut cookies and chocolate chip cookies

Good morning, folks. The coffee is now ready. Have a cup. Or use the ever-ready tea kettle with its hot water. There seem to be tons of teas on the shelves.

It seems to be going well, friends. So many new stories being posted. So far we are all keeping up it appears. We will see how it goes when the stories are longer and longer.

Good morning, Xander. Hey there, peeps. Are we having a good time? The coffee is now brewed and I have served up my first cuppa. The water is hot for tea, of course.

It is a gloomy day out there. I do dislike getting up at zero dark thirty. But we are out and about now and we should be having a decent Sunday.

Tomorrow I start my radiation therapy to zap the metastasized cancer in my adrenal gland. Five sessions in five days in a row. That will do it, I'm sure. Then sit back and watch as this tumor shrivels up and goes away.

Our contest is cruising along. I hope even more of us get involved. It is rather easy to enter.

Will be thinking of you, dear Larry. (hugs)

It was great to pop on here after a couple of weeks to find my inbox full of comp stories. Such fun to catch up with everyone's writing! Best of luck all.

Nice to see you here, Helen. And welcome, Xander!

I'll grab myself a cuppa and a handful of Sara's cookies.

Larry, good luck with your procedures. Sending good thoughts your way.

It is great to see all the competition entries coming in now. I am slowly catching up on all of them.

The weather was gorgeous today so we headed to our boat and spend a few hours on the water. Have to take advantage of these nice days.

I hope everyone is doing well.

I'll grab a few cookies, thanks, Sarah. I made some vanilla bean, rum raisin ice cream. I'll put it in the fridge for anyone who'd like to try it.

Welcome, Xander.

Cheers!

Morning, y'all. Larry, thake care of your old fool self. Keep us posted if you can.

Coffee's on. The tea kettle is kettling to supply the hot water needs for our tea and coco crowd.

Xander, what's a nice neurotic like you doint in this Oasis of culture and refinement. Of course, they let me let slip in so anything's possible. ;) But semi-seriously, welcome and don't hog all of the cookies. The following is top secret, sub rosa and on the hush-hush but someday this week I'll probably enter a longish (2500 or thereabouts) insult to good taste and English letters. Only possible problem is with my current marathon writer's block, I'm not sure about how to submit a 'regular' story much less a contest entry. (sigh)

And now, in the immortal words of Frankie Lane, "Keep them dogggies rolling," till me meet again.

Thinking of Larry today. Hope his radiation therapy this week does the job.

Finished first and second drafts (much as I do drafts given how I tend to edit on the fly) for another story today. This will be a Flash entry, at the 873 word level. Will let it stew a bit before submitting. It's an idea I had when the comp was first announced but it took me a while to pull it all together in my head. Very celebratory so quite fitting for this comp. My full length entry is kind of on hold. I'll go back to it soon, though.

Off work today, back tomorrow for a few days, then more time off. October is being a bit chaotic that way. Gives me time to write, though.

My "Cheers to 10 Years" competition entries;

The Goddess Dances - Flash fantasy (873 words) - Winner - Cheers to 10 Years Flash
Something - Short Horror (2581 words)

Well, I have completed two sessions of radiation therapy. I will get three more, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I also have a plumber coming by on Friday to fix a leak in the shower faucet.

I had coffee ready this morning. I don't think anyone stopped by. I finished it up myself this afternoon.

I have another idea for a story. I will get to that quickly.
