It amazes me how quickly some constituencies are to rush into re-opening. Here in Ontario, we're allowing patios with suitable social distancing but that's it as far as dining/drinking out. And groups of 10 max, though they are now allowing some bubbling. And some part of the province were held back due to ongoing outbreaks. A very cautious approach, in other words. Now as things die down, municipalities and health officers are bringing in masking rules to make sure they are in place before the province gets it in its head to go to "stage 3".

*filling the cookie jars to the tippy top and giving the adorable critters fresh cold water and treats *

Mmm. I see lot of peanut butter there. Let's see what a peanut butter blossom is for starters.

Good evening, everyone. The weekend is coming to an end as is my vacay. Back to what passes for normal these days tomorrow.

Yes lots of peanut butter because someone left 3 jars of it on my doorstep today (one of Jif one of Skippy and one of Peter Pan)
This is a peanut butter blossom

Good day to all. Plenty of coffee and hot water and other drinkables in the fridge.

I just cleaned the thistle bird feeder and put some fresh seeds in it. I hope to get the goldfinches to return to the nicely washed out feeder.

Victor is lying next to me gnawing on his tiger toy. He just went out for a quick "out and in" and is a refreshed pup.

Check out my newest story if you please on the main page now.

It was a good weekend except for the few hours I spent avoiding the noise of loud fireworks.

Had a good dinner of smoked pork shoulder barbecue, coleslaw, homemade baked beans, pasta salad, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

The best part is plenty of leftovers.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

I have a list of things I need to do outside but it's too hot and humid.

I'll have lemonade to go, please.

Cheers Everyone!

Well, isn't this is a nice little joint?

Been a member for a long time but don't frequent the place much. Hello to all.

A double espresso would go down a treat, and give me a bit of a jolt to do some writing tonight. Kinda wasted the weekend, but I'm on vacation so it's all fine.

Lovely to be here.

hello1 hi everyone
A beautiful day here. The birdies are chirping their pretty songs butterflies fluttering about.
A large iced coffee sounds yummy in the tummy.
Good to see everyone here today. I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and is surviving Monday.
Went to Dollar General and OMG people have lost their minds and forgot their manners.

On a sad note we lost a country music LEGEND today. Charlie Daniels passed away after a hemorrhagic stroke he was 83 years old.
In tribute to him the cookies are shaped like fiddles and music notes today and they are diabetic friendly

Evening, y'all. This has been one of those days. I've tried and failed several times to post a new list on the Contests and Calls for Subs forum. I'd planned to then stop by to announce my good deed then check out the gossip while working on a few cookies. Sad to say, all my efforts were in vain until now.

But being of stout heart and big stomach, I'll grab a few of those day-old cookies plus a few of the ones to celebrate the life of old Charlie Daniels then fold my tent and slip off into the desert to eat 'em while nursing my wounds. ;)

I took the plunge and cut my hair today. Nothing major just needed a change.. Still long and had layers done.
The lady who cut my hair was amazing and im usually super picky about my hair.

*peeks in the cookie jars * still in good shape. No cookie bandits today.

Hope everyone is staying safe and having a great day.

Last night some wild violent thunderstorms rolled through my area. I have never heard such a loud clap of thunder. It sounded like something blew up. Everyone came out of their bedrooms, neighbors all came out of their houses.

The power was knocked out for a large portion of our neighborhood. Luckily ours came back on quickly but not before the surge fried one cable box and blew a capacitor in the AC compressor. Thankfully my husband fixed the AC this morning and I'll get a new cable box tomorrow in the mail. The whole area had between 4-7 inches of rain.

Hopefully, tonight will be calmer. At least I don't have to water my garden.

I made some Cherry-Limeade today. I'll leave a pitcher on the counter and take some cookies to go.

Cheers Everyone!

Supposed to be a 60% chance of showers or thunderstorms here this evening (I even exercised at home rather than risking a premature shower) and my brother liked a tweet from someone who saw lightning in the area, but nothing. We need the flipping rain, too. My yard is starting to "brown up".

A green tea and a cookie to wind down seems like a plan.

Hello, E. Glad you finally stopped by again. I've just made the fresh, hot coffee. And there is plenty of hot water for cocoa or tea.

Here the weather is hot, very hot. Not the kind of weather to go out much.

The coronavirus has struck 354 folks here in our county. So far no deaths are reported. But the numbers are rising.

Be careful, folks.

The Big E has come :) and gone. :( Hope the rascal comes back soon and remind us what cold feels like. ;)

Larry, the temp down here is supposed to be around 116f this weekend. Take my word for it, the humidity may be low but that sort of temp tends to kick thing up from dry heat to scalding HOT. hatitT.

As for C19 stats, about the only thing folks around here can be thankful for is not living in Texas, especially in or about Houston.

Think I'll concoct a batch of iced coffee, grab some of Sarah's cookies and sit under the old window A/C unit and hope it keeps working.

Had a brief storm this afternoon that knocked my power off for half an hour or so. Being as I am working from home, it meant I had to knock off early. At least they fixed it quickly. Originally, they had the ETA at 11pm. Would have made getting dinner ready a challenge. In fact, we were talking about getting takeout from the local Viet-Thai place but realized they were in the blacked out area, too.

Anyhoo, I'll take a nice herbal tea and a couple of those cookies.

It rained for hours last night, seemingly pouring down each time I woke up. It was luckily not raining for our morning walk around the block.

The coffee is ready for anyone that needs a perk up. The water will boil directly.

Nice to see you back again, E. I just brewed some fresh coffee. For you the tea kettle is ready. And Sara's cookies are never-ending. If there are none in the two cookie jars check behind the counter. We keep a backup stash there.

Loud noise this morning. The neighbor down the road has finally had a tree service cut down a dead tree and they are chopping and grinding it all up. Quick work.

I can tell it is going to be messy humid outside. It is inside right now.

Take care out there.

The only good thing about all those thunderstorms and the stupidly hot weather is having a garden full of fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. I picked a ton of basil and made enough pesto to freeze for future use.

I also am growing cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, a few different varieties of large tomatoes, tomatillos, cucumbers, a variety of hot peppers, lavender, thyme, rosemary, cilantro, and dill. Had strawberries come and gone and now waiting for watermelons and cantaloupes

It makes cooking more fun to be able to go pick what is ripe and center dinner around it.

Tonight it's homemade pasta with fresh pesto and bruschetta on crostini.

I hope everyone has had a good week.

TGIF.

Cheers Everyone!

It's going to be a great Saturday. I will be doing some grocery shopping pretty soon after having a cuppa.

Rained last night and into this morning so our heat wave and drought appear to be over. Cleaning is done and a new blind for the kitchen window is hung, just kicking back now.

Got a surprise at lunch time. My wife noticed bird poop on the deck and then looked up and realized there was a nest right over the spot in our Japanese maple. We can see it clearly from our son's room and there's three fairly large baby robins in it so it must have been there for a while now. We just never noticed it. In fact, I was standing right under it barbequing yesterday. It is a better spot than the one they used to use. They used to build a nest in the ivy on the porch pillar at the front. Didn't work so well and I buried a couple of the babies last year.

Have some pictures on my camera (Yes, I still have a real camera. Better for zooming than a phone.) and I'll post one once they are downloaded.

A Saturday salute to Larry, Scott, and dang near anyone else who shows up and doesn't take all the cookies. And speaking of cookies, I'm gonna follow our leader's example when it comes to picking out a few but will go with coffee instead of tea.

BTW, Scott your news about the nest of baby robins is way cool, imo. Please keep us posted.

My neighbours. The tree they are in is right outside my son's (currently unused since he lives away from home) bedroom so I just stood at his window with my Nikon on full zoom.
