Good morning, Cynthia. You are always up so much earlier over there across the pond.

I've just made a fresh pot of coffee and it seems that Sara's snacks are always there. It was a pleasant walk with Victor this morning but I feel the heat rising already.

Hi Friends.
Well, now I know that the British government has lost the plot and I am likely to break the rules.
The lockdown has been eased to allow households with just one member visit another household.
This means that my Daughter-in-Law's mother, who is a nurse on a covid ward and divorced, is deemed safe to visit our grandchildren but the two of us, who have been in virtual self isolation for the last couple of months, are not.
It is no wonder that people don't know if they are coming or going.
The UK has one of the highest death rates per million population in the world and I can see why.

Okay, rant over, sorry.
I'll just sit here for a while and have an extra strong, double espresso and one of Sara's fine cookies while I chill out a bit.

Hope you are all doing well.

From today, some people in England will be able to form a "support bubble" but what does that mean and how will it work?

Who can have a support bubble?

Adults living alone or single parents living with children under the age of 18

What can they do?

They can form a bubble with one other household which means they will effectively be treated as a single household for the purpose of the lockdown rules.

They can visit each other's homes and stay overnight if they want. They will not have to observe the two-metre social distancing rule.

BUT:

If two grandparents live together in one household, they can only visit their children and grandchildren if their son or daughter is the only adult in his or her household.

I must say, Anna, it is all so confusing the rules you are working with. Here in the States we live with "recommendations" in most instances. Here in my state certain businesses are not allowed to open. The ones that are open perhaps may only use drive up windows to serve customers. The ones fully open, such as grocery stores, need to have the customers wear masks and stay distanced. But there is little enforcement. The people who follow Trump think it is all a "hoax" and don't bother to wear masks. We are still in the first phase of the pandemic with cases rising in most places once again as the different jurisdictions open but our federal government has decided to ignore it and hope it will go away.

Oh, drat. It is such a mess.

I've made some coffee. If you want tea the water is hot. Please have a good day.

It's Monday all over the world. Yeah, I just checked and its an hour until Tuesday in Australia. Sorry about all that.

I've gotten the coffee pot doing its thing and there's hot water simmering for the tea-sippers among us. Based on Sarah's assurance, there will be cookies when the cookie jars are opened.

Now with filled mug in one hand and cookies in the other, please pardon me or at least let me out of here on account of my good behavior, so I can sit outside and do whatever it is folks do when sitting outside.

Confusing indeed, Larry. It became mandatory today to wear a face mask whilst using public transport (but not taxis. Possibly because of robbery). Why now, as virus is supposedly in decline? Why not right from the start?

Good evening, everyone! Thank you for the cookies, Sara! Delicious!

Anna, I had a look at the 'bubble' blurb and couldn't make sense of it! I'll just carry on self-isolating. We have slightly different recommendations here in N. Ireland, that, for once, seem to be clearer than those coming from Westminster! Hey ho.

I'll grab a lemon and ginger tea.

Nice to see Cynthia drop by for some tea. I've just finished perking some coffee and it's ready.

Gonna be another scorcher today. Nothing I need to do so I won't be going out but I do have a dental appointment tomorrow. I am interested in how we will handle that.

It's good to see that Gav is making some updates to the site here. I have been noticing changes being made today. For anyone who was concerned because they could not add favorite stories to your list because the second page would give you a 404 error code that appears to be fixed now.

I'm working on my last cuppa java for the day. But please enjoy more if you are so inclined. And I note there are still plenty of cookies in the jars from Sara.

This is so wonderful. I have been unable to put a favorite here since I was already at the 50 limit. so many, many good works that I want to remember and mark as a favorite. Thanks for letting us all know Larry.

Absolutely right, Hettie. The devolved parts of the UK seem to have much more sense than England has. Although, that said, The English are great at doing as they please anyway, judging by the queues at Primark, the protests and just about anything else that suits them. dontknow

If it makes the Brits feel better, Ontario's new bubble rules aren't exactly the pinnacle of clarity, either.

I actually wore a mask for the first time. Mrs. Mendalla does the lion's share of the shopping so I have not generally been in situations where one was mandated or necessary. However, the car had to go in to the shop and cars are my department. We actually own two, but decided that with neither of us going to work (I am on work from home; my wife, a professor, is almost retired and no longer teaching, just doing research and admin work from home) or doing much else requiring a car, one was enough and we didn't insure the smaller of the two. We will reinstate the insurance if/when we need a second car or if my son needs it in Ottawa.

Just coming off a bout of lovely weather. Temps in my comfort zone, no rain, and generally quite pleasant. Environment Canada tells us that we are, however, going to welcome the summer solstice with a heat wave so that is going to change towards the end of the week.

Nice to see the place buzzing! :)

Good news about Gav's updates, Larry, must check those out! And Sara, I'll look forward to the next Scamp adventure!

It's been quite nice here so far this week. Sunny but with a nippy wind so only the unwary goes out without a cardi!

I'll grab a coffee and one of Sara's delicious cookies. :)

Morning, Ms C and/or H. You and Larry are, as usual, approximately 100% correct about the changes. After it dawned on me that I needed to log-in and I somehow managed to get it right the first time, I came by here to get the inside scoop on the Inspirations social scene and find out about the renovations to the main site.

After a couple mugs of coffee and cookies, I'm now ready to face whatever fate awaits me. BTW, highs down here in the 'Valley of the Sun will be in triple digits, again. Might have to stop back by this afternoon for some ice coffee or sweet iced tea.

There is fresh coffee brewing at the moment. I see the water is simmering. Let's have some morning drinks.

I am off to the dentist this afternoon. I'll see how they handle a cleaning.

I am hoping all the work Gav is doing will not be too disruptive. I am glad to see some changes going into effect.

Oh, I'll try to make sure there is iced tea later today for the hot times in town.

Good evening. Had a nice bike ride tonight. Temps are rising here so it may get a bit hot for that in another day or two but we shall see.

Not writing these days for here or there. Just finding it hard for some reason. I'm sure my mojo will come back once I find the right story to write.

Now, an iced tea and some of those butterscotch crunch cookies would go down nicely.

Well, the coffee I made this morning must have worked. I finally finished a micro-fiction and submitted it. Molly just finished approving it. Good to see a new piece listed on the main page.

I could use some iced tea for myself along with a cookie.

Good morning here in the heartland of the States. The Arabica coffee has brewed and I'm waiting for it to cool enough for a soothing, invigorating taste of caffeinated goodness.

My latest micro-fiction was approved by Molly yesterday and is still at the top of the stories and poems list on the main page. Things do move slowly here in our place.

Victor is busy beside me getting his after breakfast and walkies nap. It is nice and pleasant right now since it rained most of the night but it will be steamy later this afternoon.

hello1 howdy folks
A large iced tea so perfect
Larry I am putting cookies in the cookie jar
Working on a couple of things so we will see how that goes. It's a beautiful day outside. The birdies are chirping their pretty songs and the sun is shining.

In Cookie Monster we have oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip cookies, ginger snaps and blueberry coconut cookies
In Big Bird we have oatmeal raisin, carrot cake cookies, pecan divines and lemon drop cookies.
*filling the cookie jars to the tippy top with fresh cookies and putting yesterday's cookies in the emergency cookie tins behind the counter *
*giving the adorable mascots fresh cold water and treats *
Stay safe everyone.
