Man, too quiet in here these days. We need to throw a party or something. Fuzzy had some donuts backstage so I'll put some of them out here along with fruitcake and shortbread left over from the holidays. Some of my brother's famous fudge, too (he took over my Dad's recipe when Dad gave up making it). * fires up the kettle to make some green tea * Anyone do anything fun over the holidays? I had a family cruise. 8 days out of Miami with stops on four Caribbean islands. We don't get much time with our son anymore since he goes to university out of town so these vacations are becoming more special with every year. Coffee - Cure Of Fast Frenzied Energy Everytime
And in French - Café
Ça Aide Fortement Enerver
Loosely translates as "it helps to get really enervated". VERY loose translation.

Need TEA but having sleeping problems so debating how much Cure-All For Failing Energy Input Needing Escalation (CAFFEINE) is appropriate. The Goddess Dances - Winner - Cheers to 10 Years Flash The Berry Girl - Third place - Summer Word Bank

Lemon Thriller is a store brand (President's Choice, which is owned by Loblaws, Canada's largest grocery chain) but I don't hold that against it. Love it plain or with a twist or two of lime, which I guess would make it Lemon-Lime Thriller. https://www.presidentschoice.ca/en_CA/products/productlisting/pc_lemon_thriller_herbal_teaprod1450003.html The Goddess Dances - Winner - Cheers to 10 Years Flash The Berry Girl - Third place - Summer Word Bank

Really, really, hot black tea, double-bagger, please. Large cup. Add two Ricola cough drops into bottom and two tablespoons of honey. Feeling low with a stuffy head and raw throat. I have the best velvet, low tone, raspy voice for singing Barry White songs but can't make it through a whole song without cracking. The best thing about an email society is that I can work all day without speaking to anyone. Make that To Go, please. Thank you.

In the immortal words of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." That line absolutely has to appear in the pilot for the new Picard-based Star Trek series. Week almost over and I think I've made it. Happy weekend to all. Take care of yourself and get well soon, Wordpusher. I've dodged the bullet so far this winter but I'm sure I'll come down with something sooner or later. My wife was ill back in October but I didn't seem to catch it. Ugh. I woke up with a sore throat, head-ache and aches and pains today. So I'll be making a hot drink of lemon, honey and grated fresh ginger to ease the sore throat. And there will be a thermos filled with it on my bedside table to sip on during the night, when I wake up feeling miserable. Am also taking paracetomol to combat the aches and pains. I will be exiled to the spare room so my husband won't be disturbed and hopefully be spared this thing.
Stay healthy people, it's the misery season!

Thanks for the kind thoughts today. I'm at work; slogging through a couple hundred emails and sniffling so as to be let alone. Best wishes for the weekend.

Good morning all.
Time to start the day with a freshly brewed cuppa java. And look out at the freshly fallen blanket of snow.

Can something be both sad and enjoyable? Yesterday, I was watching a concert in memory of a member of the Canadian pop band Walk Off The Earth. Their keyboard, trumpet, accordion, and other miscellaneous instruments player Mike Taylor, affectionately known as "Beard Guy" to fans, passed away unexpectedly just before New Year's. The concert was held in the band's hometown of Burlington, Ontario, Canada and featured mostly local acts, many with ties to WOTE. Some good performances but some sad moments, too. Sarah Blackwood, the band member who emceed, was in or close to tears several times and had some great stories about WOTE's ties to some of the various guest artists. Having a tall cup of Orange Pekoe right now. The Goddess Dances - Winner - Cheers to 10 Years Flash The Berry Girl - Third place - Summer Word Bank

I'm a big fan of WOTE. I hadn't heard about Mike Taylor's passing, that is so sad. The tribute concert sounds amazing. Emotional and moving and a fitting celebration of his life and talent. I might go for an Apple and Cinnamon tea, please.

Dinner is on the stove. Hamburger stew. Getting close to ready. It's time to make some African Red Herbal Tea. Ready to drink after we finish dining. Cheers, all.

Actually, at this time, I am at the hosptial for my tri-weekly infusion. Just discussed this and that with my oncologist. Awaiting the Pembro to be sent down from the lab upstairs. Since they have wifi here I can just do my internet surfing while here. Cheers, all.

The water is boiling. YOu can make a cuppa cocoa, for sure. Even put some mini-marshmallows in it, just the way you like it, little Sara. I'll have my last cuppa java for this day. Cheers, all. Edit: Oops, beat me to it, Scott. Hahahaha.

I'm not a fan of hot drinks even in the winter I prefer ice cold beverages. I will, however, try to sneak a few marshmallows away from Sara to snack on. Not looking forward to a cold rainy weekend. Hopefully going out for dinner and a movie later, after dealing with family drama. I hope everyone is keeping warm.
