One of my photos was selected for inclusion on the Ilford Photo Film Blog this week.

Ilford Photo Film Blog

First one below the header featuring the glasses - yes, the apples.

I'm a traditional photographer, still using and developing films, and printing the good negatives in a darkroom, using chemicals and paper.

I'm really pleased to have been included in the selection this week!

Here's the photo, just for good measure.

Nice photograph Gypsy. Its been years since I was in a darkroom. Finally had to give up film and went digital about 3 years ago. Love to see more.

Cool beans, and Congrats...yeah I used to develop and print my own 35mm B&W stuff...never did get into color processing...too many chemicals, temperature is more critical...and unless you have a fancy color analyzer enlarger, printing can be a bit tricky...but you know all that I'm sure...

I see you use a Rolleiflex...Zeiss and Schneider lenses...good stuff my friend...

Once again you have captured an excellent photograph. Good composition and neutral lighting.

Well done in deed Gypsy.

Another excellent shot Gypsy.

Were you using Tri-x? Did you push it to a faster speed?

Thank you, James! I was using Ilford HP5, a 400 ASA like the Tri-x. It was taken at 400, and there was actually a lot of light because of the pyrotechnics of the performance. If I recall correctly, it was f8 at either 1/60th or 125th of a second, camera hand held.

The occasion was the opening night of a European street theatre festival some years ago, and this performance took place in the small park in front of where I live. I had the advantage of looking down at what was going on, so I had good, clear sight lines for framing. Had I been down on the street, I probably wouldn't have seen much because of the crowd of people, and I certainly wouldn't have been able to frame the image this well.
