How many duplicate threads do we need?

not quizzical, but critical. Shotgun has opened quite a lot of threads lately. Nothing wrong with that, were it not, that the majority are almost duplicates of already existing threads, some of them even created by himself. With that, serverspace is being wasted and other funny or challenging threads are pushed out of sight.

/geek alert.

While the it does push threads off the front page, it doesn't take any extra server space. At least not enough to matter. I'm a database administrator by trade and have looked into the mysql databases these are stored in.

Server space wasn't my main concern. Duplicate threads are reducing the fun, because it spreads out the people. Those that used ro play in a thread now have to either chose or visit them all. And in duplicate threads you'll get duplicate answers, so what's the point in creating them, unless it is to get your name on the threads listing as much as possible.
