I found it odd that there wasn't already a thread for links and articles regarding grammar, punctuation, and word usage. Maybe I missed it in the archives... If not, feel free to add to this one.

The one I learned about today (better late than never) is a Visual Thesaurus, appropriately found at www.VisualThesaurus.com.

It offers word mapping among other ingenious devices to help writers find the right word.

Not sure if you tried it yet Diana, but it's a trial version that only allows a limited number of searches...

I often refer people to the following site:

It addresses the most common grammatical problems such as verb tense and pronoun reference inconsistency, subject-verb agreement, run-on sentences and much more.

Me, I done got a grammar question.

Bri (354) brought up an item from my 'Cold Beer and Hot Fries' story. Early on, I describe the Hilltop Café interior as being "neon lighted." (might have stuck a hyphen in there) He suggested that "neon lit" would be the correct wording.

Any sage wisdom, counsel and/or advice would be appreciated.

Either is correct. "Lighted" is most common in American English, so I would recommend staying with that since the story is clearly American.

Interesting that Maggie thinks either is correct, and I'm sure she's right...she knows stuff...

I would have thought Brian is correct...to me "neon lighted" just don't sound right...but frankly, grammar stuff is not my forte...so, I have to go with the Rascal...
