I had the opportunity to do a Forum Search on SS today.

I was surprised when along with a few Google items, it contained only LS results!

I tried two other searches and got LS results on the first using my user name, but no SS results. I tried a user name that was on SS only and got only Google results.

My question is, Shouldn't a Forum Search on SS return SS results? Is there a way to exclude LS from the search criteria? Am I doing something wrong?

Just curious????

I’ve been ruminating on this for a while, and think I finally figured out the answer. When you press the Search link in the forums, you’re given two options: Search using Google or Search using Forum.

Search using Google will return results from all over, whereas Search using Forum will only return results from Stories Space. I’ll ask Gav about removing the Google search option.

Thanks for pointing it out!

I just looked at the search using forum option and noticed that there is no 'search all' option which means that if you want to find something, you have to know which thread to search in.
A little difficult if you are trying to remember something from long ago and can't remember where you saw it.
Is it possible to add a 'search all' option to the drop-down?

If anyone wishes to find the beginning of this epic saga, here it is:

However, since this story is now available in paperback, only the first few chapters remain. Buy at:

We're rather limited in what we can do to tweak the forums, and I don't think a Search All option exists. I'll ask Gav, though.
